[wingide-users] deleting spaces; Wing API

I was looking for, then trying to write a script for, the equivalent  
of Emacs's just-one-space command which deletes all but one space  
around the current position. (a) I'm surprised it isn't there. (b) I  
can't find anything in the API that allows me to get the current  
position of the cursor when there is no selection. What am I missing?
