[wingide-users] help req : debugging C/C++ modules with gdb

Hi,

I wanted to use wingide as a
tool to aid in debugging C/C++ extension modules written for Python.

I am using ununtu 9.10. First step
in doing so is to install  a version of Python that was compiled with
debug symbols.

But if I delete python from ubuntu
it would definitely stop working . And python comes preintalled in ubuntu
without debugging symbols.

How can i install python with
debugging symbols ?
