[wingide-users] wing with app-engine-patch

I'm trying to get wing debugging working with app-engine-patch (Django for
GAE). If I start the sample app without modification (via "python manage.py
runserver"), the app comes up fine [1], and I can use it. Great.

Then I put "import wingdbstub" at the top of views.py, and the FIRST time I
hit the page, I'm given:

*******************************************************************
Error: Cannot find wingdb.py in $(WINGHOME)/bin or $(WINGHOME)/src
Error: Please check the WINGHOME definition in wingdbstub.py
Status: 200 OK
Vary: Accept-Language, Cookie
Content-Type: text/html; charset=utf-8
Content-Language: en

and then a whole bunch of HTML. If I then reload the page, I get the page
just fine (although my breakpoints are not activated).

WINGHOME is not set in the environment, and the path to it in wingdbstub
(/usr/lib/wingide3.2) does exist, and has a bin/wingdb.py set up. I even
opened up the permissions to 777 to see if that would help, but no luck.

Anyone have a suggestion? This is running on Ubuntu Karmic, 64-bit.

[1] in either case, the first time I hit the page, I'm getting messages like
this in the log, even though the files exist, and have permissions set to
644:
