[wingide-users] Threads not running as supposed inside Python Shell Tool

I'm trying to run a piece of multi-threaded code, in which each thread
execute a different SQL query on a certain DB.

Thing is, when I run this code in the Wing Python Shell Tool, all
threads enter 'sleep' mode immediately, without connecting to the DB.

This, of course, isn't what's considered normal behavior, and indeed
doesn't happened when the code is run from a command prompt python shell
(or Idle).

What's the relevant difference between the Python Tool and a regular
python shell, and is there a way of eliminiating this difference?
